TrueVee® mouthpiece adapters are machined by hand using American brass or stainless steel. They are made one-at-a-time when ordered using custom-designed tools and reamers manufactured by Gammons Hoaglund. To ensure accuracy, they are constantly measured thoughout the machining process. Each adapter is tested for proper fit on a variety of name-brand instruments.
If you have a non-standard instrument, we will work with you to get the correct fit at no extra charge in most cases. In some cases, especially with older instruments, reasonable set-up fees will be charged. If you've ever experienced the frustration of trying to insert a Bach® mouthpiece into a Getzen® Flugelhorn then you know pain.
If you have a need for a strange adapter - trumpet to tuba, for example, just let us know and we'll quote you a price. As long as it's a Morse Taper, we'll make it with no questions asked.
Please note that our large mouthpiece to small receiver adapters work perfectly. However, they WILL make the instrument play flat. Just how flat is determined by the instrument. If you're lucky, you will have enough room on your tuning slide to compensate. If not, you'll have to become familiar with Trumpet in B transposition. Please note that large mouthpiece to small receiver adapters made in stainless steel or custom made adapters in any material may not be returned.
It is suggested that you test the instrument in question in a SAFE manner before ordering a large to small adapter in stainless steel. An easy method is to tape the mouthpiece to the leadpipe with some gaffing or painter's tape. Then, play some notes in the lower register. Do not use duct tape as it will remove any lacquer finish.

All modern-era cornet mouthpieces adhering to the Morse Taper specification will fit properly in a Vintage Olds cornet using this adapter. Vintage Olds cornets were manufactured prior to 1956 and contained a larger lead pipe than standard cornets. This adapter alleviates the need to have a mouthpiece modified or machined from scratch. |

TrueVee® Threaded Trumpet Backbore Insert

The TrueVee®Threaded Trumpet Backbore Insert allows you to use a standard threaded trumpet mouthpiece backbore like Warburton with an older type threaded cup or rim/cup combination like Tottle. Simply screw the insert on to your backbore and then screw the cup onto the insert. Now you can pull out your old Tottle 3C-Star and use it on your Curry No. 2 backbore. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. |
